Axios works with clients in three broad verticals:
ethanol and other gasoline substitutes biodiesel and other diesel substitutes biomass for stationary power
Ethanol is a gasoline substitute, though traditional spark engines require modifications at blend levels above 10%. Today it is made from sugar (e.g. sugar cane) or starch (e.g. corn and sugarbeets) and eventually it will be made from any cellulosic materials (e.g. wood waste, grasses, bagasse) materials, via enzymatic fermentation. As of last year (2006), global production stood at about 40.3 million tons of ethanol (13.5 billion gallons).
